Day Three is not going as well as the first couple of days. Lots of crying, screaming, and generalized unhappiness seem to characterize today. Nolan's also refusing popsicles, which are the only fluids he's been getting (he won't drink anything at all, even though he'll clutch his cup for comfort).
Let's hope that codeine kicks in so the little guy can take in some fluids...

When I had mine out, the doc warned me that things would get worse for a couple days, and then improve.
Hoping that's true for Nolan!
Praying for him (and you!)

Awww, poor kid. If he eats some popsicles, then next time he comes up for Signing Time, he can play with the big green race car as much as he wants. Would this be a good time to explain how one of his favorite stuffed animals recently had his tonsils out, too, and you make a big production out of how said animal went to the hospital and did such a great job, etc., and now he's feeling pretty bad, but he's willing to eat a popsicle...? I hope both Nolan and his stuffed animals feel better soon.
He has (finally) eaten a few popsicles again. BIG relief... dehydration is a big worry after this surgery. He's still feeling rather rotten today, though. He's been watching Cars repeatedly and hanging out on the couch. Poor kiddo!
Can you give him 7 up? That always makes my throat feel better when it hurts. Actually I can't drink anything uncarbonated when I have a bad sore throat.
Ericka, we can't do anything carbonated because of the severe GERD... unfortunately, it causes acid to wash back up his throat when he drinks or eats anything not on the GERD diet, so he's left with diluted white grape juice (which he won't drink). He will take popsicles, though, so that is helping a lot!
Oh yeah I didn't think about that!
