Nautilus Shell...?

I came across this picture of Nolan on a playground in Santa Barbara. It's supposed to be a nautilus shell, but it'll always be a giant cochlea to me:

Leah, there was a post on cicircle about a free cued speech learning event in Ohio this Saturday (5-2). It's in the Columbus, OH, area, which is about a 4.5 hour drive from here. Probably not an option for you, but if you're interested, I can send you the rest of the info. I know you've considered cuing as a way to help Nolan distinguish the high-frequency speech sounds. From the description of the event, apparently it's pretty easy to get started with cuing.
