Sorry to hear the wee fella's having infection problems, the following article from the BBC was interesting (although no immediate solution unfortunately!).

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-10953025

Best wishes

John CUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00140388522974587653noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2074245988180152453.post-18869436447071676222010-08-15T09:02:55.627-07:002010-08-15T09:02:55.627-07:00I hope it goes away forever. He doesn't like to wear one without the other, so we put on his aids when we are going out and take them off to let the ear get some air when we're home. Hopefully it will dry up very quickly, so that we can go back to full-time aid use!leahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05004783118268323560noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2074245988180152453.post-77329023873211580242010-08-14T10:28:17.414-07:002010-08-14T10:28:17.414-07:00Poor little guy!

Poor guy. Hope the antibiotics work quickly. I'll have to ask my SIL, but my nephew had EI after EI and they finally put him on something different and it seemed to work wonders.tammyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11440760114820803415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2074245988180152453.post-21056988242380046362010-08-13T14:53:08.910-07:002010-08-13T14:53:08.910-07:00Melanie, he's usually only uses Ciprodex (ear ...Melanie, he's usually only uses Ciprodex (ear drops), which usually knocks out the infection. With tubes, the Ciprodex can get into the middle ear space and usually the antibiotic in the ear drops knocks out the infection, without the need for oral antibiotics. So the next step is Amoxicillin, and then they'll move onto something stronger.

Thanks for the kind words- I am tired of this kiddo having ear infections, etc.!leahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05004783118268323560noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2074245988180152453.post-79159642848540266992010-08-13T14:20:14.799-07:002010-08-13T14:20:14.799-07:00Yuck.

One of my boys got EI's all the time when he was a baby and they were only wiped out by the heavy-duty stuff. Are they worried about antibiotic resistance?

Either way, hope you all get some relief soon.Melanie https://www.blogger.com/profile/10523026102207613431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2074245988180152453.post-19402435043236262212010-08-13T13:41:36.985-07:002010-08-13T13:41:36.985-07:00We'll keep hoping with you, Leah!
